When can I place orders?

Orders can be placed 24 hours a day, seven days a week via our web site. Telephone orders can be placed Monday – Friday from 9am to 5pm. Call us toll-free at 1-877-606-6620. Taste of Cheese is pleased to honour the following credit cards: Visa and Mastercard. If neither of these payment methods are suitable to you, please contact us to discuss an alternative method. All prices are subject to change without notice. We do not ship C.O.D. Sales taxes will automatically be added to any applicable purchase.


Do you have Gift Boxes?

Yes, we have different presentation options for gifts depending on the budget.  For a nominal fee we can wrap the thermal box so it looks a bit nicer when the recipient opens the package.  For those desiring a more formal gift offering we can provide you with a gift box or metal container. Please contact us if you do not see a suitable option on our site.

How are the products shipped?

The cheeses are individually wrapped in paper or foil, as appropriate, or sealed in an air tight bag to protect each cheese during shipping. The box is filled with stuffing and an ice pack in a thermal container which is sealed to maintain the temperature.  The container is then placed in a cardboard box for an added layer of protection.  Our primary concern is with maintaining product quality during the shipping process.  For small orders, we may use a thermal bag, ice pack and box to reduce shipping costs.

Can I send a gift message?

Without a doubt! Fill out the “message” box on the order form and we would be glad to include a hand printed card with your note.

Taste of the Month Boxes

What is the Taste of the Month box?

Every month we select 5 exciting and unique cheeses to include in a Monthly Taster Box. This box is a great way to become exposed to rare, artisanal or classic cheeses of the highest quality. It is also a perfect gift for any cheese lover!

How much cheese will I receive in a Monthly Taster?

Five cheeses are normally included in the Monthly Taster Box. The cheeses are typically 150g to 300g in size. Occasionally, we present a month where we include only 4 cheeses, each at larger sizes. You should always expect approximately 1 kilogram of cheese in your Monthly Taster Box. In the event that a cheese of a significantly higher value is included in the monthly collection, the overall amount may be slightly less than 1 kilogram.

Is Taste of the Month a club or a service that I must subscribe to?

No. There is no sign up or subscription cost to order the Taste of the Month Box. A monthly Taster Box is ordered just like any other collection that we offer.

Catering, Custom Orders and Corporate Gifts

Do you do custom orders?

Taste of Cheese is pleased to offer custom catering options such as cheese trays and gift baskets.

I am having a party. Can you send me a cheese tray?

Taste of Cheese is happy to put together a selection of cheeses that will be perfect for your event, big or small. We generally suggest 3-5 cheeses with condiments and crackers and send them to you for assembly. If you live within the GTA, we are able to plate your cheese tray and deliver it to you for an additional fee. Please contact 1-877-606-6620 or info@tasteofcheese.ca to discuss your order.

Do you cater events?

Taste of Cheese is proud to have been featured at events all over Ontario. We have catered private parties and sponsored various events. Please contact stacey@tasteofcheese.ca if you are looking for help with an event.

Can you create corporate gifts?

Definitely. We are very happy to work with you to customize a selection of products for corporate gifts, promotions and appreciation events. Please contact stacey@tasteofcheese.ca to help you with ideas, selections and packaging.


How do you ensure the cheese arrives fresh?

Your order from Taste of Cheese can be shipped coast to coast throughout Canada via next day courier for the designated shipping date. A local courier is often used to deliver orders within the GTA. UPS Ground and Air Express services are used to deliver all remaining packages, both within the GTA and throughout Canada. Your cheese and other products are packed in a thermal styrofoam container with an ice pack and cushioning, which creates a stable environment for the products for 24-36 hours.

Do I need to be home for delivery?

No, the cheeses are well packed and stable for up to 12 hours beyond the time of delivery.  Please leave instructions on the order form where you would like your package to be put on delivery. However, we encourage you to ship your order to a location where there will be someone available to receive the package during business hours. Businesses are often the best locations at which to receive our perishable goods. Packages shipped to locations where no one is available to receive it will be left in as safe a location as possible.

Where do you ship to?

We will ship anywhere in CANADA. We are not able to ship outside of Canada due to FDA regulations.  We make every effort to secure shipping carriers so that orders will be delivered within 24 hours of leaving our warehouse.  For certain remote locations, it may take a bit longer for your order to be delivered, but orders will be received within 48 hours of leaving our location.

When will my order be shipped?

It takes up to one day to receive and process your order. Occasionally, the products that you ordered may not be available for immediate shipment. If this is the case, we will contact you to discuss the delivery of your order.

Over the Christmas Season, we require orders to be placed at least 2 days before the requested delivery date. We are unable to deliver on Saturday, Sunday and Mondays.

If desired, you can select a future ship date during the checkout process.

Orders for our Monthly Taster Box will be shipped only on the specified dates. In some months, we may offer delivery of the Taster Box on two separate weeks. In this case, you are able to choose which week you would like to have your order delivered.


Will any substitutions be made to my order?

Occasionally, a cheese in your order may be temporarily unavailable or simply not up to our very high quality standards. In an effort to accommodate you as quickly as possible, we may make a substitution of a comparable cheese that we think you’ll enjoy. We do try to notify all customers in the case of a substitution.

Claims and Exceptions

What do I do if something is wrong with my order?

Please inspect your package immediately upon receipt. All claims must be filed within 24 hours of receipt.  In the event of a delivery delay, we will do everything possible to re-route your order for timely delivery. We cannot be responsible for damaged or compromised product due to the following:

  • Delayed deliveries due to weather or other “Acts of God”
  • Incorrect addresses
  • Unopened shipments (all boxes are clearly marked “Perishable”)
  • Gift shipments sent to recipients who are out of town or otherwise unavailable to receive their shipment.  Please notify recipient of the pending arrival of perishables!
